Daily news is a newspaper that publishes daily and covers a wide range of topics. It is typically distributed to the public free of charge and contains news and information about current events. Some examples of daily newspapers are The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
A scathing report details how poor management of a city-run rental assistance program led to serious problems for families in need. Then, Michael Oher talks about how his early life was misrepresented in the movie “The Blind Side.” Plus, the hosts discuss the scream-match between NYC’s top cop and his chief of staff over a photo op.
Shareholders of Tribune Publishing, the parent company of the New York Daily News and several other major US publications, overwhelmingly approved a deal to sell the company to a cost-slashing hedge fund, Alden Global Capital. The move sets the stage for a rapid transformation of the paper’s journalism and operations.
The New York Daily News is a morning daily tabloid newspaper in the United States, founded as the Illustrated Daily News in 1919. It was the first successful U.S. tabloid and was once the highest-circulation newspaper in the world. It attracted readers with sensational coverage of crime and scandal, lurid photographs, and cartoons and entertainment features. The paper remained popular in the 1920s and 1930s, when it competed with rival New York Post tabloids for circulation. It eventually lost ground to the Post, but remained one of America’s largest newspapers through most of the 20th century.
In the 1990s, the Daily News moved to a new headquarters at 450 West 33rd Street (also known as Manhattan West). The building was designed by John Mead Howells and Raymond Hood. Its 42nd Street location, which had a large globe in its lobby and was used as the model for the Daily Planet building in the first two Superman movies, was sold to the City of New York in 1995.
